HeroPress Celebrates 10 Years of Empowering WordPress Stories

HeroPress, founded by Topher DeRosia, is celebrating ten years of amplifying the voices of those who have found strength and success through WordPress. Originally envisioned as a video series with translations, HeroPress transformed into a collection of essays that share the inspiring journeys of people overcoming challenges through their connection with WordPress.

Launched in 2015, HeroPress initially struggled to find backers, leading DeRosia to shift to text-based essays, a format more accessible across bandwidths and languages. Andrey “Rarst” Savchenko contributed the very first essay, marking the start of HeroPress as a space for personal storytelling. Today, HeroPress boasts 278 essays published in 29 languages from 66 countries, featuring contributions from 136 women, 134 men, and 3 non-binary individuals.

Reflecting on the past decade, DeRosia shared, “HeroPress has been a blessing in my life for ten years now. It has been a deep, deep privilege to share the stories of WordPress with the world.” To sustain its mission, HeroPress is now seeking financial support to continue inspiring the WordPress community. “HeroPress isn’t just a website,” DeRosia emphasized, “it’s a platform that brings hope and connection to the global WordPress community.”

HeroPress also invites community members to share their own WordPress stories, keeping the spirit of connection alive for years to come.
